Narborough & Littlethorpe Heritage Society

Welcome to the Society home page where you can find out more about our events and outings. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

We have a event most months with a guest speaker and organise one or two outings per year. We offer a membership option with reduced entrance rates. See below for more information.

The Society would be very pleased to hear from anyone with photographs, postcards, items or information (ancient or modern) regarding the Parish. We intend to build up an archive of information, and would very much like as much help as possible in achieving this. (We would scan, copy or photograph the items, so we aren’t asking that you donate them to the Society.) Penny Immins has got agreement from the Leicestershire Libraries Service that material can be held at Narborough Library, where it can be made generally available. It would also be helpful to have the material to improve the information on the web-site.

Newsletters for Download

JUST OFF THE FOSSE WAY NARBOROUGH & LITTLETHORPE HERITAGE SOCIETY NEWSLETTER Bulletins 3-5 Introduction Welcome to the third, fourth and fifth editions of The Narborough & Littlethorpe Heritage Society’s Newsletter. I hope that you find it of some interest. Although the information in this issue is predominantly historical, as that is what we’ve got to hand, it is worth reminding ourselves what the Society has defined in its constitution as the primary aim of the Society: “To promote amongst residents and interested persons an appreciation of the history, archaeology, architecture, landscape and wildlife of Narborough Parish and Littlethorpe village, by a regular programme of meetings and undertaking special projects.” It is hoped that subsequent newsletters will embrace some of the areas other than history, but that obviously depends upon what the members focus on, and the activities that occur going forward. We intend to produce an issue every quarter and contributions for future issues would be most welcome, whether they are pictures, information, queries or articles. If you are concerned about writing an article, we’d be most happy to help you with the typing, formatting and the like, as long as you can provide the narrative for us to work around, or we can interview you and write that up.
